After spending some time in Cuzco, I headed to Peru's other major tourist destination -- Lake Titicaca. I did a two day tour of the island that included spending the night on one of the islands and eating the typical food. They eat well there, and the stay on the island was quite interesting.

They've started using plastic beneath the top layer of reeds so that the tops of the boats stay dry. A ride cost around $1.

This didn't come out too well. It's the edge of the reed island -- beneath the water you can see some of the root clumps.

This bird wandered over when the guide we had was explaining about the fish of the lake, then he ate one.
